Mr. Christophe Buffard is Principal Architect at Kudelski in the IoT Security business unit. He was part of the team that designed the Kudelski IoT end-to-end security enablement platform created to enable data protection, data policy management, and local decision-making across a range of network types, including bandwidth-constrained systems.
Mr. Buffard also represents a Nagra Dish join venture NagraStar in the GSMA IoT SAFE and GSMA Remote Sim Provisioning WG7, which focuses on a new RSP’s architecture that combines the consumer RSP architecture and the M2M RSP architecture.
Previously he specialized in the digital media industry in the areas of content protection and metadata signaling. He was involved in Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Conditional Access System (CAS) design and end-to-end architecture. He also worked as full-stack architect for secure embedded device middleware solutions for Digital TV and represented Nagravision in several sub-committees in the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) standardization body (part of ITU and IETF).
Mr. Buffard has several academic publications for his research in mathematics, specifically related to algebraic languages.
Mr. Buffard received his Master of Science in Computing Science from EPITA engineering school in Paris, France. He was research assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), studying formal algebraic languages for the dynamic analysis of concurrent programs, a program sponsored by the Swiss Federal research fund and European DeVa fund.
