IoT Network to Launch on New Silk Road, Powering Enormous Socioeconomic Benefits
ThingPark China, Xi’an Beilin District Science and Technology Bureau, and Shaanxi Radio and Television Network Group, announce the signing of a landmark agreement to launch an Internet of Things (IoT) network on the ‘New Silk Road.’ The initiative will form part of President Xi’s $100 billion Belt and Road programme, which aims to create a modern day version of the ancient Silk Road, driving commerce, connectivity and cooperation between nations. Leveraging the strong scientific and technological strengths and rich human resources of Beilin District, the first stage will be the launch of a test network covering 23 square kilometers in the Beilin District, Xi’an, the historic starting point of the Silk Road.
