The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a sustained commitment and significant contributions to the LoRa Alliance over at least three years.
Semtech’s Miguel Luis executes instrumental work to drive the Certification Committee (CC) and is deeply committed to ensuring the accuracy of all TC and CC specifications. He also participates in five additional WGs. Luis co-authored the original LoRaWAN specification; his knowledge and contributions make him a critical asset to the LoRa Alliance.
Member Bio:
In 1997 and 1998 Miguel obtained a Swiss Telecommunications and Microelectronics Technician ET Diplomas. Miguel worked for Xemics SA as an Applications Engineer developing embedded radio drivers and PC graphical interfaces. In 2005, Semtech acquired Xemics SA and in 2007 Miguel has become Senior Applications engineer. In 2013 obtained a Bachelor of Science in Communicating Embedded Systems. As final work of the Bachelor degree, has done the definition and implementation of the proof of concept that become the LoRaWAN 1.0.0 specification in 2015. Since 2013, manages and maintains the LoRaMac-node project, which the LoRa-Alliance considers as an end-device reference stack implementation. Miguel actively participates in the LoRa-Alliance certification and technical committees.
