I have been part of the development of the IoT business over the past 15 years.
At my former employer, Ericsson, we created the IoT expression ‘The networked society’ in 2015. It was about building communication networks that would enable billions of devices to be connected to support society to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. At the time it was a visionary statement to spark the industry to see beyond connected cell phones (people), but also drive the development of 4G, 5G etc.
What we have learned over this last decade is that there will always be futuristic statement of IoT opportunities and use cases based on new technology, AND we have also learned that IoT is here and now when utilizing existing technology like LoRaWAN.
LPWAN, and in particular LoRaWAN, is a perfectly suited technology to address a large set of use cases that will have an immediate and great impact on energy, water and climate. The business potential is huge, and the technology is mature and proven to deliver what it promises.
Netmore and its shareholders are committed to contribute to the deployment of LoRaWAN networks. Netmore has rolled out public LoRaWAN networks in Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and France and we will continue to expand its geographic al footprint. By this we will be an important and contributing board member and bring useful insights of the European market.
With the telecom background of Netmore we see the importance to constantly strive for increased customer value as well as technology contingency.
Backward compatibility should always be a key priority as well as affordability.
Netmore strongly believes in open ecosystems where there should be no lock ins. We advocate openness, partnership and collaboration. We believe that The LoRa Alliance have a very important role to play to create awareness and knowledge of what IoT technology can contribute to markets and industries.
