Since stripping apart and putting back together his first radio at age 9, Val has had a fascination with communication technologies. After a professional military career of 10 years in the Royal Australian Air Force working on secure defense networks, Val embarked on a civilian career following new technologies from analog to digital mobile, GSM to Voice over IP and Wireless MESH to Low Power WAN. Today, he couples his passion for innovative IoT technologies with his desire to help people find solutions for their needs as well as imparting knowledge and experience along the way. When not introducing Brunata customers to the benefits of IoT solutions, or participating in LoRa Alliance activities, Val can be found at home digging in the garden with his family or tinkering on his small collection of cars from the 80’s.

Speaker Bio

Val Jelinic is the Head of Ecosystem and IoT Solutions at Brunata AG, where he couples his passion for innovative technologies with helping businesses find solutions for their needs. Educated in the Royal Australian Air Force, Val has worked for companies including Nortel Networks, Orange Business Services, ABB Switzerland as well as lesser-known start-ups.

As an active member of the LoRa Alliance Marketing Committee since 2016, Val has had prominent roles in various working groups and as a LoRaWAN Ambassador has presented at numerous European events as an ardent spokesperson promoting the visibility, understanding and adoption of LoRaWAN globally. In 2019 Val launched a Regional Marketing Task Force focused on Germany, where he served as Chair until 2021. Val continues to be a positive influence and advocate for LoRaWAN and the LoRa Alliance.
