Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated, and experienced Event Manager to lead the strategic planning and execution of LoRa Alliance events across the globe. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, is open to both part-time and full-time Europe-based professionals, and requires international travel.
The Event Manager will drive the overall event strategy and coordinate execution across in-person and virtual events. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, member companies, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional event experiences that promote the LoRaWAN standard and grow engagement across our ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the LoRa Alliance’s global event calendar, including flagship, vertical, and horizontal industry events. Responsibilities include researching and identifying events to participate, managing event budget and setting revenue goals, creating criteria for membership participation, defining approval strategy and presenting to committees and board for approval, contract negotiation and execution, budget planning and reconciliation, and managing internal and external support.
- Strategize, plan, and execute a wide variety of events such as trade shows, webinars, workshops, committee and board meetings, member networking events, receptions, speaking opportunities, and more.
- Work closely with working groups and committees to define event objectives, criteria for participation, and key messaging, and comfortable leading strategy and planning meetings.
- Oversee all event and tradeshow logistics: venue coordination, vendor management, registration, invoicing, budgets, and sponsorships, and agenda and speaker management, design and messaging, and post-event reporting.
- Collaborate with the digital marketing and PR teams to promote events across channels and platforms.
- Manage membership engagement for each event including internal communications, calls for participation, sponsorship, registration, and deadlines
- Drive all pre and post event activities such as webinars and blogs.
- Maintain communications with global member companies to align on participation and opportunities.
- Manage the Speaker Bureau program, including speaker outreach, abstract submissions, and content coordination.
- Coordinate webinars, from scheduling to production, ensuring platform optimization and promotional strategy.
- Support the design and delivery of attendee engagement experiences both digitally and onsite.
- Track and report on key event KPIs, budget performance, leads, and post-event analytics to optimize future event decisions.
- Ensure GDPR compliance and proper handling of event leads and data.
- Oversee the Event & Program coordinator
Requirements
- Proven experience in event management within a global tech or non-profit environment (IoT/telecom, technology alliance experience a plus).
- Familiarity with tradeshow planning and regulations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and remotely across time zones.
- Comfortable working with leadership and leading cross functional team members
- European residency required.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
- Familiarity with virtual event platforms and CRM tools is a plus.
