Spotys by Condis SA is a next-generation LoRaWAN IoT sensor designed for power monitoring and fast fault localization. Engineered for 3-phase 4-wire systems, Spotys offers energy data and robust fault detection capabilities. Whether it’s detecting short-circuits, ground faults, or monitoring multiple circuits, Spotys helps Utilities minimize downtime, cut operational costs, and enhance grid reliability.
In traditional grid configurations, when a short-circuit occurs—like when a digger damages an underground 16kV cable—the protection relay (IED) cuts off the entire line within milliseconds. But finding the exact location of the fault becomes a time-consuming manual process, often requiring visits to each street cabinet.
With Spotys, Utilities can eliminate guesswork. Each sensor monitors real-time current peaks. When a fault happens, only the sensors before and after the incident detect symptomatic current peaks and instantly report via LoRaWAN. The precise fault location is visualized immediately, reducing repair response times from hours to minutes.
This smart network of sensors not only prevents prolonged outages but also saves significant operational costs by minimizing unnecessary field interventions.
