The iM881A-M is a compact, low power, bidirectional radio module for the 868 MHz frequency band using Semtech’s LoRaWAN® modulation technology. The module provides ultra-long range spread spectrum communication and high interference immunity whilst minimising current consumption. Using the iM881A in an application minimizes the need for an expensive and time-consuming RF development. Fast time to market is possible with this pre-qualified module.
The iM881A provides an optimized RF performance for the extreme temperature range. In addition, the iM881A combines a powerful Cortex M0+ controller with the new LoRaWAN® transceiver SX1272 of Semtech Corporation. It has been specifically designed for battery driven devices. It consumes 38 mA in transmit with the maximum output power of +14dBm. Combined with an excellent sensitivity of down to -138 dBm a range of 15 km can be achieved in free space environment. The iM881A-M is pre-certified according the European R & TTE guideline and can be soldered like an SMD component.
Embedded Software:
The iM881A-M can be ordered with a pre-programmed embedded protocol stack (iM881A-M_LoRaWAN®):
It enables Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) for Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Machine-to Machine (M2M) applications and supports Activation By Personalization (ABP) or Over The Air (OTA) activation. It comes with the WiMOD LoRaWAN® HCI interface and allows easy configuration.
