Liaison Partners
Because no single technology will address the billions of IoT use cases, the LoRa Alliance has engaged in a number of liaison agreements with other collaborative organizations to enhance the LoRaWAN® standard and ensure its interoperability, thereby increasing IoT services and technology integration. Such collaborations drive innovation to solve important issues, leverage an even broader range of applications and, ultimately, ensure the success of global mass IoT deployments.
Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) promotes the development of Wi-Fi technology in full interoperability with other standards like LoRaWAN. With more than 20 year experience, the WBA has proved to be successful with more than 10B devices using Wi-Fi today.
The WBA mission is to enable collaboration among service providers, technology companies and organizations in the industry who share the same vision. The WBA undertakes programs and activities that aim to address business & technical issues, as well as opportunities for member companies.
The WBA work areas include advocacy, industry guidelines, trials and certification. Key programs include Next Gen Wi-Fi, 5G, IoT, Roaming, Testing & Interoperability with Work Groups led by the membership that aim to resolve standards and technical issues while supporting end-to-end services and accelerate business opportunities.

Poised at the intersection of the network and communications technologies, the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) brings together communities of interest across — Technology, Government Affairs, Standards, and Business Performance — to shape solutions, facilitate programs, and provide products and services that enable high-speed networks and accelerate next-generation Information and Communications Technology (ICT) innovation across all markets.
With a global membership of more than 400-member companies TIA is at the center of a vibrant ecosystem of companies delivering technologies and services that is revolutionizing the way the world communicates. Our members include ICT manufacturers and suppliers, network operators and service enablers, distributors and system integrators.
IoT Connectivity Alliance (ICA) aims to unify standards for partners to swiftly connect up devices, develop applications at a low cost, and quickly reproduce solutions. ICA is market oriented and aims to build an ecosystem to diversify industry features and balance inputs and outputs. The workgroup is optimally structured to create a symbiosis between market insight, business drive, and technology evolution. While giving equal consideration to the synergy of upstream and downstream technical standards vertically and industrial standards horizontally for the industrial chain, ICA comprises industrial workgroups that provide smart city, smart campus, smart manufacturing, smart living, and smart agriculture capabilities and workgroups that set standards in the areas of edge computing, AI application, connection, LPWAN, testing, security, and data.
The Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) is an organisation of governmental bodies established in 1959 that now includes national regulatory authorities from 48 European countries. ECC is part of the ECC / EC / ETSI triangle that drafts the EU regulation and naturally plays a key role for the protection, the coordination and the development of all current and future wireless applications in Europe.
In particular, ECC works on Frequency Management and Spectrum Engineering with working groups and project teams that provide an efficient organisation for cooperation and discussions with industry in order to develop regulations and policies (reports, decisions, recommendations) related to electronic communications in Europe. ECC has been central in developing efficient use of the frequencies to satisfy the requirements of the users of the radio spectrum (terrestrial and satellite, broadband and IoT…) : digital television, WiFi, 5G, satellite and of course Short Range Devices – IoT.
