Donald Chan

Donald CHAN is a MCU’s Strategic Marketing Director of STMicroelectronics of the Company’s Asia Pacific region. His current main responsibility is on General Purpose Microcontroller’s with special focus on IoT and Wireless connectivity as well as partnership collaboration’s in China region. Donald joined STMicroelectronics, in 1999 where he was given special assignment to setup the ST Smartcards Marketing team for ST Central Asia Pacific base in Shanghai. In 2005, Donald then took the challenges to lead the new ST Incard Sales & Marketing team responsible for Asia Pacific region and two years later he was promoted to Sales Director of the ST Smartcards Division for Greater China region where he oversees all smartcards business for Greater China region.

During these time, he made huge contribution to the company’s Smartcards business in China where business revenue growth double digits and the market share increased substantially. In 2012, Donald was given a new assignment as Senior Marketing Manager for Secure Microcontrollers product with special focus in China Banking and Mobile Payment market. In 2015, he was promoted to Director Strategic Marketing for Secure MCU’s with special focus in China localization Program. In May 2013, Donald has been elected as the Chairman on the Information Security Working Group of European Chamber of Commerce China (EUCCC) and working closely with European Commission (EC) on topics towards fair competition and market access into China security product industry. Donald hold this Chairman position for four consecutive years. Donald Chan joined the MCU’s Strategic Marketing team in 2017, with primary task to bring his experience in Secure MCU’s to the MCD team in Asia Pacific as well as take responsibility in the IoT & LPWAN market.

Donald Chan has more than 20 years in the semiconductor industry with primary on secure microcontroller (smartcards) security industry. Prior to joining STMicroelectronics, he was Head of Application Support for ChipCard in Infineon Technologies Singapore.
