Jan-Philipp Exner

Speaker Bio

Dr. Jan Philipp Exner is a Senior Project Engineer in Strategic Project Development for Smart Cities at ZENNER. With a diploma in spatial and environmental planning from the University of Kaiserslautern and international studies, including an M.Sc. in European spatial planning from BTH Karlskrona and a Ph.D. focused on smart cities and urban planning, he brings a strong academic background. His career spans research at the University of Kaiserslautern, urban planning in Luxembourg, and a role as a digitalization expert at the August-Wilhelm-Scheer-Institute in Saarbrücken. Since 2020 at ZENNER, he spearheads Smart City initiatives, aiding utilities, cities, and municipalities in IoT-driven digitalization for smart urban development.
