Jay Desai

Jay Desai is the General Manager for Amazon Sidewalk, where he leads all engineering and business operations for this global IoT network. Since joining Amazon Devices & Services in 2009, he has built the connectivity solution for Amazon’s first worldwide Kindle and established successful organizations including Central Wireless, Central Technology, and Global Regulatory Compliance. These teams have integrated core technologies across Amazon’s diverse product portfolio, including Kindle, Fire Tablets, Echo Devices, Consumer Robotics, Fire TV, On-The-Go devices, and numerous IoT products.

Jay brings deep expertise in wireless technologies and communication systems, holding a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Digital Signal Processing from USC. Prior to Amazon, he developed core cellular technologies for GSM, 3G, and 4G handsets at Motorola and contributed to IDCC’s first in-house ASIC development.

Jay currently represents Amazon on the FCC Technical Advisory Council (TAC), bringing valuable regulatory and technical perspective to standards development and industry collaboration.
