Ronan Le Bras is Head of Technical Strategy – IoT & Wireless Networks at Orange Group providing expertise to the affiliates in 28 countries and to Orange Business Services on IoT and LPWA topics.
He is member of the LoRa Alliance Board of Directors since June 2018. He also represents Orange at the GSMA Mobile IoT Initiative since 2015 and is now Vice Chair of the LTE-M Task force since February 2017.
Ronan joined Orange UK in 1997 after graduating with a MSc in Digital Communication from the University of Strathclyde (Scotland). He led several project on new mobile and Wireless radio technologies (UMTS, Wimax, Wifi Mesh) Transferred to the Orange Group in Paris in 2004 to lead the UMTS TDD technical evaluation, he represented Orange at the 3GPP RAN plenary from 2005 to 2017 leading the Orange requirements to the LTE specifications.
Ronan resumed education in 2007 with a MAE (French MBA) from the IGR – University of Rennes focusing on Japanese Business Management. From 2008 to 2012, he was business development manager for Japan and APAC for Enensys Technologies, a French company from in the domain of Broadcast Television.
Back at Orange in 2012, he is involved in IoT / LPWA since 2015, he led the technical evaluation of the first LoRaWAN experimental network at Orange in Grenoble (France) in 2016. He is a speaker at several IoT and LPWA events such as GSMA Mobile IoT summit, LPWA Word 2017 and 2018.
