The demand for collecting data from every conceivable device has driven the creation of a plethora technologies for the Internet Of Things. To benefit the most from the world of IOT the data from these inexpensive, largely battery powered devises has to have an equally inexpensive ecosystem to connect them and get their data back to the cloud. One technology that is leading the way for these devices is LoRaWAN®, which is an open standard developed by the LoRa Alliance®. This talk will go through the technical details of the LoRaWAN protocol to give a full understanding of how it works including its security, its  power optimised design features and how it is adapted to work in the sub 1G Hz licence free spectrum around the world.
