FRESHDATA Extender — Battery-Powered Range Extender for LoRaWAN for Hard-to-Reach Sensors
FRESHADATA Extender is a battery-powered range extender for LoRaWAN designed to bridge coverage gaps between end devices and gateways. When sensors cannot reach the network due to distance, physical obstacles, or RF interference,FRESHDATA Extender relays their uplink messages — without requiring new gateway infrastructure or a power outlet.
FRESHDATA Extender operates on the EU868 band and supports up to 10 end devices simultaneously. Its key differentiator is adaptive synchronization: FRESHDATA Extender learns each sensor’s transmission period and aligns its receive windows with the device’s actual TX pattern, waking only when a frame is expected. This keeps average power consumption under 5 µA in deep sleep, enabling multi-year battery life in typical deployments.
Frames can be forwarded via LoRaWAN or RS485, making FRESHDATA Extender compatible with both standard network server architectures and special setups. ABP devices are fully supported, and payload decoding via AppSKey is built in. Full configuration is handled through a UART CLI over USB Type-C.
