TG-LR82 – Dual band environmental and motion sensing node

Low-cost, dual band (868 MHz and 2.4 GHz) LoRaWAN certified (Class A and B) high accuracy and NIST traceable temperature and humidity sensor node with built-in accelerometer for activity and tilt monitoring or impact and free fall detection, and IP67 rating. Supports multiple configuration profiles and event-based rules, allowing the device to adapt automatically to changing conditions. This enables powerful monitoring scenarios without complex backend logic.

Description

TG-LR82 combines environmental and motion sensing with onboard data processing. High accuracy temperature reporting makes the TG-LR82 extra suitable for monitoring temperature sensitive goods and environments.

The device can generate temperature and humidity averages or histograms before transmitting telemetry. This reduces network traffic while preserving valuable insights about environmental conditions.

  • Device supports LoRaWAN Class A and B, and can operate in two frequency bands (868MHz and 2.4GHz), enabling deployments without regional frequency restrictions
  • Operational temperature range -10°C to +70°C
  • Temperature sensor ±0.3°C from -10°C to +70°C
  • Humidity sensor ±3% RH 20% ≤ RH% ≤ 80% (non-condensing), 0°C ≤ TA ≤ 60°C
  • Mounting – strapping or M4 screw mounting
  • Dimensions 76x45x19mm
  • Optional mounting bracket (77x46x6.5mm), for mounting device on metal surfaces
  • Supports flexible configuration via LoRaWAN downlinks. Generate payloads using a dedicated configuration tool or integrate with platforms such as The Things Network (TTN)
  • Magnet (reed) switch for manual configuration or for using device as door or window sensor
  • Built in accelerometer for activity and tilt monitoring or impact and free fall detection
  • Sensor data can be sent to LoRaWAN application server periodically or based on configurable rules
  • Sensor data can be visualized and analyzed using modern monitoring platforms such as Grafana
  • Non-replaceable 1100mAh manganese dioxide lithium battery
  • Estimated battery life: up to 7 years (room temperature +23 °C; accelerometer disabled; 15-minute uplink interval; temperature, RH, and battery sampled every 60 s; no downlinks; EU868 / SF9 / 125 kHz)

Configurable Sensors

Sampling Intervals:
Periodic temperature, humidity and battery voltage sampling can be configured for specific use cases. Device can sample data at a higher rate than uplink frames are sent. This gives opportunity to send average values or to perform rule based decisions. Since sampling interval influences device power consumption this can be leveraged to improve lifetime.
Averaging:
Device also tracks average of sampled values in: temperature, humidity, battery, angle.
Histogram:
All periodic samples are added to temperature and humidity histograms. Histograms can be used in addition to regular telemetry or simply stand alone to monitor temperature and humidity distribution.
Activity Monitor:
Device has activity monitoring service based on accelerometer. This service will automatically manage simple state machine that determines movement/activity.
Impact and Free fall:
Accelerometer can be configured for basic impact and free-fall detection.
If Activity Monitor is enabled impact and free fall detection can not be used and will be ignored.
Data Rules:
Up to 32 custom user rules are configurable. Rules have test expression, optional input rules and actions to perform.
