La plataforma del IoT de Urbana Smart Solutions gestiona los sistemas de alumbrado público de los municipios de Sicilia a través de una red LoRaWAN que utiliza 20 pasarelas para transportar casi medio millón de mensajes diarios.
El programa LoRaWAN IoT de EchoStar ya abarca más de 10.000 dispositivos, y se espera que el servicio se amplíe a millones sólo en Europa.

Fremont, Calif. – June 21, 2022 – Building on its recent announcement of significant network expansion, the LoRa Alliance^®, the global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN^® standard for internet of things (IoT) low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs), today announced strong growth for LoRaWAN across a number of key market indicators. Driven by LoRa Alliance members and the global LoRaWAN ecosystem, LoRaWAN is scaling massively around the world, collecting more data from more devices, serving more needs, with the most networks around the world, including historically underserved areas.

“Because members of the LoRa Alliance come from every part of the value chain—from silicon chipmaker to solution implementor—explosive adoption of LoRaWAN means not only the number of sensors deployed, but also the rapid scaling of gateway deployments, messages handled, and networks said Donna Moore, CEO and chairwoman of the LoRa Alliance. “Every stakeholder of the LoRaWAN ecosystem is driving market activity, with recent strong growth in the number of solutions providers and system integrators delivering LoRaWAN solutions.”

Everynet continues to expand its massive IoT buildout across the United States with its LoRaWAN network delivering coast-to-coast coverage, reaching more than 550 cities, which includes more than 130 logistics points. Its robust network offers dense coverage in urban areas, while long-range connectivity delivers coverage across key logistics points.
The Helium Network and Senet have completed an integration between their networks, making 850,000 Helium-compatible hotspots across 170 countries available to Senet customers and creating the largest globally managed LoRaWAN network.
National Narrowband Network Co. (NNNCo) has signed a contract with technology provider Wellness TechGroup to deploy a citywide LoRaWAN network in Montevideo, Uruguay to support 1.3 million people with 70,000 smart streetlights and create an infrastructure-based network for other smart city initiatives (to add endless use cases to the network), while reducing carbon emissions by up to 80%.

The companies have deployed 1,000 LoRaWAN gateways that transmit 960,000 messages per day, providing readings for temperature and humidity, water leakage and smart floor drains. Providing that data enables new revenue streams and improved customer service.

Fremont, Californie – 21 juin 2022 – Dans le prolongement de la récente annonce d’une importante expansion des réseaux, LoRa Alliance^®, l’association mondiale des entreprises qui soutiennent le standard ouvert LoRaWAN^® pour les réseaux étendus à basse consommation (LPWAN) de l’Internet des objets (IoT), a annoncé aujourd’hui une forte croissance pour LoRaWAN sur plusieurs indicateurs clés du marché. Porté par les membres de LoRa Alliance et son écosystème mondial, LoRaWAN s’étend massivement à travers le monde, répondant à davantage de besoins, collectant davantage de données d’un nombre croissant de dispositifs, avec le plus grand nombre de réseaux mondiaux, y compris de zones historiquement mal desservies.

Le réseau Helium et Senet ont achevé l’intégration de leurs réseaux, mettant à la disposition des clients de Senet 850 000 points d’accès compatibles avec Helium dans 170 pays et créant ainsi le plus grand réseau LoRaWAN géré au niveau mondial.

Les entreprises ont déployé 1 000 passerelles LoRaWAN qui transmettent 960 000 messages par jour, fournissant des relevés de la température, de l’humidité, des fuites d’eau et des drains de sol intelligents. La rete LoRaWAN, guidata dai membri della LoRa Alliance e dall’ecosistema globale LoRaWAN, sta registrando una crescita considerevole a livello mondiale, riuscendo a soddisfare più esigenze e raccogliere una maggiore quantità di dati da più dispositivi, con il maggior numero di reti in tutto il mondo, anche nelle zone storicamente meno servite.

Renesas ha implementato una soluzione LoRaWAN per edifici smart con 10.000+ sensori e 90 gateway che monitorano le condizioni, la presenza, i contatori e il controllo del carico, la manutenzione degli scambiatori di calore e molti altri aspetti, facendo risparmiare il 30% sui costi energetici a un importante rivenditore di mobili.
Senet sta liberando il potenziale dell’innovazione a Tampa (Florida), con una rete pubblica espansiva LoRaWAN che copre oltre 2.575 km², con più di 50 torri.

La piattaforma IoT Urbana Smart Solutions gestisce i sistemi di illuminazione pubblica per alcuni comuni della Sicilia tramite una rete LoRaWAN che si avvale di 20 gateway e trasporta quasi mezzo milione di messaggi al giorno.
Il programma IoT LoRaWAN di EchoStar include già più di 10.000 dispositivi, e si prevede che il servizio possa espandersi fino a raggiungere milioni di dispositivi solo in Europa.

Senet and WHIN Partner to Deploy LoRaWAN® Connectivity Across Ten County
Region of North-Central Indiana

During the event, an Actility ThingPark Enterprise LoRaWAN private network will report live temperature, humidity, light, carbon dioxide and occupancy statuses using data from Elsys, Parametric and Sensative sensors installed around the facility. The sensor values will be transmitted using a Motorola Solutions LoRaWAN gateway and visualized using IoThink’s KHEIRON Studio. Fifty attendees will be equipped with Abeeway smart badges whose locations will be updated on the event floor plan in real time.

Fremont, California (4 de mayo de 2022). LoRa Alliance^® —la asociación global de empresas que respalda el estándar abierto LoRaWAN^® para redes extensas de bajo consumo (LPWAN) de conectividad para el internet de las cosas (IoT)— ha anunciado hoy que el número de redes públicas LoRaWAN, que ya funciona a nivel mundial, ha tenido un crecimiento del 66 % en los últimos tres años.

Hasta ahora eran los operadores móviles quienes implantaban las redes públicas LPWAN; sin embargo, este último crecimiento se ha debido, en gran parte, a que otros tipos de operadores han empezado a desarrollar infraestructuras específicas para satisfacer la creciente demanda de conectividad IoT por LPWAN. Algunos factores que han favorecido la disponibilidad y cobertura a nivel mundial de estas redes han sido las recientes inversiones realizadas por algunos proveedores de redes LoRaWan por satélite y comunitarios, y el hecho de que la itinerancia ya sea una realidad en veintitrés países (ver más abajo la lista de miembros de LoRa Alliance que operan actualmente redes públicas LoRaWAN). Al mismo tiempo, también se ha producido una gran proliferación de redes privadas. Este nuevo panorama de redes LoRaWAN ha crecido también en diversidad: las hay públicas, comunitarias, por satélite y privadas, además de algunos modelos híbridos. Los cambios que se han producido en los requisitos de conectividad, cobertura y accesibilidad están beneficiando a estos operadores ágiles. La infraestructura LoRaWAN es de bajo coste y fácil de implantar, lo cual está propiciando la imparable adopción de esta tecnología. Este giro del mercado en favor de la libertad de elección en cuanto a infraestructuras permite a las empresas capitalizar las enormes oportunidades comerciales que traen consigo las LPWAN, lo cual a su vez fomenta la incesante evolución del mercado emergente de IoT.

«La base de dispositivos LPWAN instalados sobrepasará los 2 billones en 2025», vaticina Steve Hoffenberg, director y analista industrial de estudios de mercado de la empresa VDC Research. «El bajo coste de las gateways, sumado a su alta adaptabilidad a redes públicas, privadas y por satélite, convierte LoRaWAN en el estándar mejor preparado para ofrecer conectividad en más lugares y a más tipos de dispositivos, lo cual supone un gran impulso para el mercado de LPWAN.

La LoRa Alliance^®, l’associazione globale di imprese a sostegno dello standard aperto LoRaWAN^® per le reti IoT (Internet of Things) a bassa potenza e ampio raggio (LPWAN), ha annunciato oggi che il numero di reti pubbliche LoRaWAN, disponibili in tutto il mondo, ha registrato una crescita superiore al 66% negli ultimi tre anni.

Storicamente, l’implementazione di reti pubbliche LPWAN è stata realizzata da operatori di telefonia mobile (MNO). Tuttavia, gran parte della crescita attuale è stata resa possibile sostanzialmente da altri tipi di operatori (non MNO) che stanno costruendo un’infrastruttura dedicata fondamentale per supportare le crescenti esigenze delle reti LPWAN per l’IoT. Recenti investimenti effettuati da fornitori di reti LoRaWAN comunitarie e satellitari, insieme alla disponibilità del roaming in oltre 23 Paesi, hanno ulteriormente accelerato la disponibilità della rete e la copertura globale (si veda l’attuale elenco dei membri di LoRa Alliance che operano nelle reti pubbliche LoRaWAN riportato di seguito). Allo stesso tempo, anche le reti private stanno registrando un tasso di crescita esplosivo. Questo nuovo scenario per le reti LoRaWAN mostra una crescita in termini di varietà – con molteplici approcci legati a reti pubbliche, private, comunitarie e satellitari, ma anche ibride – che rappresenta un elemento competitivo distintivo per LoRaWAN.

“Gli operatori di rete LoRaWAN stanno costruendo nuovi tipi di infrastrutture per soddisfare i requisiti futuri della rete IoT”, ha affermato Donna Moore, CEO e Presidente della LoRa Alliance. “Questa evoluzione delle tipologie di reti e di fornitori, oltre a essere attesa, è indice di un mercato dinamico e in buona salute. Mai, 2022 – Die LoRa Alliance^®, die weltweit agierende Unternehmensvereinigung, die den offenen LoRaWAN^®-Standard für das Internet der Dinge (IoT) mit Low-Power-Wide-Area-Networks (LPWANs) unterstützen, teilte heute mit, dass die Anzahl der weltweit verfügbaren öffentlichen LoRaWAN-Netzwerke in den letzten drei Jahren ein Wachstum von 66 % verzeichnet hat.

Früher wurde die Entwicklung von öffentlichen LPWAN-Netzen von Mobilfunknetzbetreibern MNOs) vorangetrieben. Seit kurzem wird ein Großteil des Wachstums von Nicht-MNOs ermöglicht, die eine wichtige dedizierte Infrastruktur zur Unterstützung des wachsenden Bedarfs an LPWAN IoT aufbauen. Dank der jüngsten Investitionen von Satelliten- und Gemeinschafts- LoRaWAN-Netzbetreibern und der Roaming-Verfügbarkeit in über 23 Ländern konnten die weltweite Reichweite und die Verfügbarkeit des Netzes gesteigert werden. Das neue Umfeld für LoRaWAN-Netze verzeichnet eine wachsende Vielfalt – öffentliche, private, gemeinschaftliche und satellitengestützte sowie hybride Netzstrukturen – was ein Wettbewerbsvorteil für LoRaWAN ist.

Die agilen Netzwerkbetreiber von heute profitieren von den sich weltweit wandelnden Marktanforderungen an Abdeckung, Verfügbarkeit und Erreichbarkeit. Fremont, Californie – Le 04 mai 2022 – La LoRa Alliance^®, l’association mondiale des entreprises qui définit et maintient le standard ouvert LoRaWAN^® pour les réseaux étendus à basse consommation (LPWAN) de l’Internet des objets (IoT), a aujourd’hui annoncé que le nombre de réseaux publics LoRaWAN, disponibles dans le monde entier, a augmenté de 66 % au cours des trois dernières années.

Historiquement, le déploiement du réseau public LPWAN était stimulé par des opérateurs de réseau mobile (MNO) ; néanmoins, une grande partie de cette récente croissance a été rendue possible par d’autres types d’opérateurs, qui construisent des infrastructures dédiées essentielles pour soutenir les besoins croissants de l’internet des objets ‘LPWAN’. De récents investissements de fournisseurs de réseaux satellitaires et communautaires LoRaWAN, ainsi que la disponibilité de l’itinérance dans plus de 23 pays, ont encore accéléré la disponibilité du réseau et la couverture mondiale (voir ci-dessous la liste actuelle des membres de la LoRa Alliance qui exploitent des réseaux LoRaWAN publics). Il est à noter que des réseaux privés font également face à une croissance explosive. Le nouveau paysage des réseaux LoRaWAN montre une croissance dans la diversité – publique, privée, communautaire et satellitaire, ainsi que des structures de réseaux hybrides – qui est un facteur de différenciation concurrentiel pour LoRaWAN.

« Les opérateurs de réseau LoRaWAN construisent de nouveaux types d’infrastructures pour répondre aux futurs besoins du réseau IoT », a déclaré Donna Moore, PDG de la LoRa Alliance. « Cette évolution des types de fournisseurs de réseaux est attendue – elle est aussi le signe d’un marché sain et dynamique. Ces nouveaux acteurs du réseau sont flexibles, peu coûteux, agiles et capables de se développer au-delà des contraintes des infrastructures de réseau préexistantes. Ils parviennent à élaborer des modèles commerciaux rentables pour maximiser la valeur de leurs réseaux LoRaWAN et répondre aux besoins évolutifs des déploiements ‘LPWAN’. LoRaWAN est la seule solution LPWAN offrant une variété de types de réseaux, ainsi qu’une interopérabilité et une itinérance entre ces derniers, ce qui continuera à entraîner une forte croissance de la capacité du réseau LoRaWAN. »

Les opérateurs de réseau d’aujourd’hui, qui sont réactifs, tirent profit de l’évolution des besoins du marché en matière de couverture, de disponibilité et d’accessibilité dans le monde entier. L’infrastructure LoRaWAN est peu coûteuse, facile à déployer et flexible, ce qui permet une forte croissance de cette technologie. Cette évolution du marché vers un choix de solutions d’infrastructure permet aux entreprises de tirer parti de l’énorme opportunité du marché LPWAN. Cela soutient l’évolution continue du cycle de vie du marché émergent de l’IoT.

Expansion in Global Networks Driven by Satellite, Community and License-Exempt Network Operators Deploying New Infrastructure for LPWAN IoT

Fremont, Calif. – May 4, 2022 – The LoRa Alliance^®, the global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN^® standard for the internet of things (IoT) low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs), today announced the number of public LoRaWAN networks, which are available globally, has grown by 66% over the past three years.

Historically, public LPWAN network deployment was driven by mobile network operators (MNOs); however, much of the recent growth has been enabled largely by non-MNOs that are building critical dedicated infrastructure to support the expanding needs of LPWAN IoT. Recent investments by satellite and community LoRaWAN network providers, along with roaming availability in over 23 countries, have further accelerated network availability and global coverage (see the current list of LoRa Alliance members that operate public LoRaWAN networks below). At the same time, private networks are also experiencing an explosive rate of growth. This new landscape for LoRaWAN networks shows growth in diversity—public, community, satellite and private, as well as hybrid network approaches—which is a competitive differentiator for LoRaWAN.

“LoRaWAN network operators are building new types of infrastructure to meet future IoT networking requirements,” said Donna Moore, CEO and chairwoman of the LoRa Alliance. “This evolution in the types of networks and network providers is expected—and a sign of a healthy and vibrant market. Today’s agile network operators benefit from the market’s evolving requirements for coverage, availability and accessibility worldwide. This shift in the market toward a choice of infrastructure solutions allows businesses to capitalize on the huge LPWAN market opportunity. Test tool simplifies and automates LoRaWAN certification

LoRaWAN certification is the solution for successfully scaling long-range, low-power end-devices for IoT. The LoRaWAN Certification Test Tool (LCTT) accelerates time to market through test automation.

To successfully scale IoT over billions of devices, end-users need confidence that their devices will operate correctly. That’s where the need for industry standards comes in. The LoRa Alliance, which develops and maintains the LoRaWAN open standard, offers simple and inexpensive pre-certification testing reduce the time to certify end-devices. Manufacturers can now perform this testing, which lets them debug prior to pursuing formal certification at an authorized test house.
